HUH?
This headline from a local tv station's website: "Gas prices expected to be sporadic"
This from Merriam-Webster online dictionary: "sporadic: occurring occasionally, singly, or in irregular or random instances"
I am still scratching my head.

Shouldn't be surprised anymore...
...but I still am.
Two new sleep-depriving situations came up in the last week. Both had the potential to be real messes, creating extremely difficult outcomes. Why do these tend to crop up before a weekend, and a long weekend at that? Why do these things have to wake me up at 3 or 4am on a holiday?
Why do they have to plague my thoughts so that it detracts from family time?
Wouldn't you know that God had relatively smooth solutions already being worked out. Once again, He proves that He is God, and I am not. Something that all of us should be very grateful for.
So now if Gideon will start sleeping through the night...

Hmmm. Questions. Questions.
“Bill Clinton’s place in the hearts of Democrats is very secure. He rescued us from the wilderness” said former California Gov. Gray Davis, a Democrat. “We had been wandering there for 40 years, having lost three presidential elections."
Civics question: Does Gray Davis know how many years make up a presidential election cycle? Mathematics question: Can Gray Davis multiply 3x4 and not get 40? Educational question: Is Gray Davis a product of California gov't schools? Theological question: So Clinton is Moses?
With Obama having a messiah complex already, this is getting interesting. Who is Biden? Peter?

Verse for the day
"I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in Your words.
My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on Your promise."
Ps 119.147-148
Once again I experienced the not-so-wonderful sensation of coming awake in the middle of the night and immediately thinking about all-that-needs-to-be-done. I don't sleep well when I have a lot on my mind. Unfortunately, that seems to be fairly normal for me as an admin. But God is good all the time. Even at 2am. He continually uses these times to bring me back to the Word, His faithfulness, and my dependence.
What an amazing thought that our God neither slumbers nor sleeps. He never lacks in His attention. He never is distracted. And He never is flooded with too many details to deal with at that time.

Too many cooks in the kitchen? Nah!
Based on current evaluation of gifts, talents, interests and inclinations, we are seriously considering him for the overnight shift.
